Overview
A convincing HFSS result requires well-defined geometry, materials, ports, radiation or conductor boundaries, and a converged solution.
Geometry and units
Check material stack-ups and dimensions against a version-controlled parameter table before meshing.
Excitation and references
Antenna ports and interconnect differential terminals represent different physical problems; avoid transferring assumptions between them.
Convergence and frequency sweep
Track adaptive mesh behavior and ensure sweeps resolve resonance and high-frequency loss behavior.
Interpret different outputs
S11, radiation gain and pattern serve antenna questions; S-parameter insertion/return loss and crosstalk serve channel questions.
Avoid overclaiming
Neither an S11 dip alone nor a short S-parameter plot establishes full design performance. Report limitations and cross-check against appropriate benchmarks.
