Overview
AI-assisted code can accelerate learning and prototyping, but mission-analysis calculations still need transparent physics, units and independent checks.
Define the problem
Write down the orbit regime, reference frame, gravitational parameter, desired outputs and neglected perturbations.
Design safe interfaces
Use named units and validated inputs, document each function and create tests for edge cases.
Cross-check models
Compare results to simplified hand calculations or a trusted independent implementation; avoid circular validation against the same generated code.
Make plots interpretable
Label coordinates, units and assumptions; never describe an illustration as flight-qualified without evidence.
Document limitations
Identify assumptions that would change results, such as drag, oblateness, maneuvers and attitude coupling.
